First of all there are the different manufacturers; from Panasonic, Osim, Hitachi, Samsung, Hoover, Kirby, Eureka, Miele, and and others.
Then there are different categories of vacuum cleaners; upright, canister, central, industrial, commercial, extractor etc.And each of these categories again has a number of models like bagless or with bags, handheld, wall mounted and so on. So the list of available vacuum cleaners is huge.
There are several factors which can make a vacuum cleaner more attractive. The most important factors includes price, suction power, and versatility.
Price is a vital factor in determining the overall value of a vacuum cleaner, but a low price does not always mean that you are getting the best value for your money. The ease of use and the ability to cut housecleaning chores down in time can make a higher priced vacuum better overall value. More importantly is in this time and age, the function of a vacuum cleaner are doubled to include other functions as air cleaners. Conventional vacuums in most ofter cases merely extracts bulky particles, the more powerful ones extract both bulky and timy particles but the tiy particles end up in the air anyway, this is due to the filtering system used. In the conventional vacuum cleaners, paper bags or fabrique bags are used. The bags are only reliable if they are changed often, in most household these bags are changed every 6months to a year. This means these bags contain the dust mites over time, when you vacuum the next time, some of the dust mites are again freed into the air basides leaving a uncomfortable smell in the air.
Rainbow Vacuum Cleaner, are often thought of of as a heirloom. If you have never used one, you will be shocked at how well it removes the contaminants from your floors. It does not reintroduce these tiny particles into the air again or roomed in bags. Regular upright bag vacuums, let dust particles escape through needle point size holes in the bags, Rainbow Vacuums have a water canister that if you vacuum everyday with a regular vacuum cleaner, you will NOT reach the level of clean, as you can with just one use of the Rainbow Vacuum. Many of the vacuums listed below have been restored to excellent condition by repairing, renovating, or rebuilding agently used vacuum. Read each description carefully to ensure that you know what you are getting.
The Rainbow vacuum is the latest evolution in the history of a truly revolutionary home cleaning system. Based on the principle that "Wet Dust Can't Fly™", the Rainbow uses a unique water-based filtration system to effectively remove dirt and airborne particles from your home.
Rainbow is the pioneer in vacuum cleaners using water filtration. Many followed but Rrainbow remains the leader in one of the best (if not THE BEST) water filtration cleaning systems in the world.
The closest contender to Rainbow is a similar product, "The storm", it is priced at RM3800 with a RM500+ 'broom' used to vacuum beds thrown in if you book immediately after the demo. It has a wet function where you can use it as a mop as well as clear stains from carpet etc. But you can read from internet that the one common problem of the 'The storm' is that the 'mop' leaks AND there are many 'other' things to clean after you mop or clean stains. You need to clean the tubes etc to clear the dirty water. No doubt, its cheaper then Rainbow vacuums at RM3800 with a RM500+ 'broom' used to vacuum beds thrown in if you book immediately after the demo like rainbow. The electrical cord for The Storm can't be stored away easily unlike Rainbow.
Karcher is the other close contender of Rainbow that uses water as well as Hepa filters. The karcher doesn't clean the air which I think is not the best use for a vacuum cleaner. Today, homes need product can perform multiple functions as they are more easier to be stored and used. The Karcher cleans mattress and vacuums the floor and carpet well. Price is RM2,980 with an independent electrical broom free. You decide the difference for yourself reading the many meterials on the internet.
All 3 Rainbow, The Storm and Karcher use Hepa filter, however do note that Rainbow's is the most expensive. The storm also uses a cheap filter at the air exit area unlike Rainbows.
Karcher has a bigger motor, 1,400 watts, Storm at 1,200 but can be adjusted between 425-1,200. Rainbow is at 875/975watts. This means the amount of electricity used over same time by Rainbow is lesser that the other 2 contenders.
Rainbow vacuums are better than conventional vacuum and cleans dust mite etc. There are also the easy installment plans arranged with major credit cards with 0% interest.
The Rainbow does seem heavy for the average lady, but only with the water. YOu can always dismantle and carry the plastic water base seperately every time you move, especially from different floors. Being heavy is the only downside found in the Rainbow vacuum cleaners, again you can browse through the net to confirm.
Much Cheaper alternatives that use water as well include those from Panasonic or Osim, but remember they don't specialise in vacuums besides thier motors are just not powerfull enough to suck those tiny dust mites that have 8 legs to help them stick to materials.
